The challenge

The Operations Manager of this large hotel and restaurant in Berkshire had found that his existing supply agreements were increasing in cost and he had also experienced a reduction in the quality of goods being delivered. Acquire were brought in to help.

The solution

We analysed the hotel’s purchase ledger and also compared the goods purchased, line by line, using the copy invoices that had been supplied. We then prepared a comprehensive comparison report that clearly demonstrated the available savings.

The results

After assessing our report, the hotel made a number of changes starting by using our highly competitive arrangements with a leading grocery supplier. Subsequently the hotel changed the supply arrangements in respect of fruit & vegetables, patisserie, laundry and beer supply. The savings made a considerable difference to the overall margin. Now Acquire tracks all the commodity prices on behalf of the hotel and provides monthly management information which allows the hotel to forecast it’s costs more effectively.
